Mobile Home Park Eviction

Share

We as residents of the Thunderbird Mobile Home Park are writing about your articles on William Dickey and his eviction from his mobile home.

When we all moved in to Thunderbird Oaks we were given rules and regulations to abide by. Mr. Dickey has never abided by any of them, such as street parking, soliciting within the park for his businesses, trying to install a large satellite dish, improper use of the recreation facilities, misuse of the RV parking area, maintenance of his property and, by his own admission, he never intended to.

Chris Buckett, who led the protest, is not a resident of our park and certainly does not represent us. The protesters (as reported) did not “tidy or whack weeds” at his home; a commercial landscaping company did it and only on one side of his coach. As of now there are still household items and junk on the roof of his mobile home and sheds.

This is a designated senior park; we are all senior citizens, some of us much older than Mr. Dickey, many veterans and some disabled. We all maintain our homes and yards, follow the rules and have a lovely park.

It is too bad Mr. Dickey must spoil our park; he only had to abide by the rules, which he hasn’t for all of his 22 years here. If he had, he would not be in this situation.

We feel this man has been given every opportunity to do right over the past two decades and certainly doesn’t deserve any more of the taxpayers’ money.

Also, to Councilwoman Elois Zeanah: If you are working for the senior citizens of Thousand Oaks, why did you not come and talk to us at Thunderbird Mobile Home Park?
