Chatsworth Firm Reduces Losses for Quarter, Year

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc. posted a narrower loss in its fourth quarter on an 18% jump in revenues.

In the quarter that ended Dec. 31, the company posted a net loss of $532,924 compared with a loss of $1.7 million in the same period a year earlier. In the latest quarter, International Remote’s revenues climbed to $7.4 million, up from $6.3 million.

For its full fiscal year, the company’s net loss also narrowed to $503,288 in 1997 compared with a loss of $7.4 million in 1996. Revenues last year rose 33% to a record $27.5 million, up from $20.6 million a year earlier.

International Remote is headquartered in Chatsworth and makes various medical laboratory devices, including urinalysis machines.
