Freeway Lanes to Be Closed for Testing of Pavement
Two lanes of the Long Beach (710) Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. this week as Caltrans conducts tests on the thoroughfare to determine if repaving is needed.
The state Department of Transportation will work on the northbound section tonight and Wednesday and will test the pavement on the southbound side Thursday and Friday, traffic engineer Jim Suyemasa said. Several onramps and offramps will be closed.
Once testing is finished, Caltrans will analyze the results to decide which portions need to be reconstructed.
