7-Year-Old Boy Hit by Car While Riding Bike Dies of Injuries
A 7-year-old boy riding a bicycle was struck by a pickup truck and killed in Orange on Wednesday, authorities said.
The child, whose name had not been released late Wednesday, was struck just before 6 p.m. near Batavia Street and Collins Avenue in the city’s commercial zone, said Sgt. Tom Jordan of the Orange Police Department.
The child was rushed to UCI Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m., Jordan said.
The driver of the pickup was not cited, authorities said.
