Golden West, Orange Coast Forfeit

Golden West and Orange Coast were forced to forfeit baseball games as a result of a fight involving the two teams after a game Tuesday.

The state code calls for a one-game suspension for any player leaving the bench or joining the fight.

Neither team had enough players for games today. Saddleback was to have played Golden West; Riverside was to have visited Orange Coast.

Riverside (32-9, 17-6) will host Saddleback (31-9, 16-7) at noon for the Orange Empire Conference title.

If Saddleback beats Riverside, it would earn a share of the title and get the conference’s top seeding in the playoffs by virtue of a tiebreaker.

Golden West finishes the season 19-19, 10-14. Orange Coast (18-21, 7-16) plays host to Cypress at noon Saturday.
