Lights in 10 Cities to Burn Against Crime

Ten Orange County cities will participate in the 15th Annual National Night Out today, joining more than 9,000 communities throughout the United States and Canada.

From 7 to 10 tonight, residents are being asked to turn on their exterior lights in the spirit of community awareness and solidarity in the fight against crime, Anaheim Police Sgt. Kirk Robertson said.

The participating cities are Anaheim, Dana Point, Fullerton, Huntington Beach, Irvine, La Habra, Placentia, San Clemente, Santa Ana and Westminster.

The Anaheim Police Department also will be hosting an open house tonight from 5 to 8. There will be informational displays, tours and SWAT and K-9 unit demonstrations, plus other activities for families.
