Update--Sunday’s loss to Reno dropped the Vigilantes five games behind co-South Division leaders Chico and Sonoma County. On its last trip, Mission Viejo signed outfielder Chris Powell, a former Cal State Fullerton standout, and pitcher Chad Wanders. Tri-City’s pitching staff is the league’s second worst with an earned-run average of 5.86, but reliever Ned Darley is third in the league in saves with nine.
