My Favorite Weekend

Enrico Colantoni, who plays Elliot on NBC’s “Just Shoot Me.”

* Scene Stealer: Friday nights, my wife, Nancy, and my 9-month-old son, Quintin, come visit me on the set. A couple of my actor friends pretend to be nannies and pass the kid around. We all have a meal together (my son loves craft services food), and it’s like one big happy family.

* Rise and Shine: My son wakes us up around 5 or 6 a.m. If I’ve had a late night on the set, I go into the guest room to sleep. For breakfast we like Good Earth. It’s the only healthy place to eat in the Valley, and they have excellent turkey sausage.

* Something Old, Something New: We like cruising Ventura Boulevard antiques stores on Saturdays. We start at Bed, Bath & Beyond and end up at the Ferret. We rarely buy anything; usually we’re just looking at a lot of things we don’t need. After we tire ourselves out, we go home to nap.

* Home Team: Late Saturday afternoons, I strap on Roller Blades and have a roller hockey game with the other guys who live on my street. My wife and baby come outside onto the lawn and cheer me on.

* On Duty: Since we are still in the new baby stage, my wife and I rarely go out for very long by ourselves. Occasionally, we go out to Starbucks to catch up and have a baby-sitter come for an hour--but no longer than that unless it’s a special occasion.

* Moral Dilemma: Sundays I go to church or play basketball, depending on how the spirit moves me. We usually hang at home for the rest of the day. We order in a lot, but if we do go out for dinner, it’s usually in the Valley where it’s suburbia and everyone’s respectful. I like sushi at Mikado.

* Water Wary: Nancy loves the beach, but I don’t. The crowds discourage me. We are going to take the baby for his first swim this summer though, maybe somewhere out of the way like Carpinteria. We’ll throw him in and watch him float. It’s sink or swim, baby!
