3rd Suspect Arrested in Stabbing Attack

A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that Cypress police believe was a hate crime.

Two men were stabbed and another hit in the head with a beer bottle when four to six men, described by witnesses as having shaved heads and swastika tattoos, attacked them outside a pool hall Monday night, police said. The suspects, including a third arrested Tuesday night, are being held on $250,000 bail, Cypress Police Sgt. David Birozy said. They are scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. .

Police are not revealing the suspects’ identities until they wrap up the investigation.

A 34-year-old Huntington Beach man and a 30-year-old Long Beach man were treated and released after the attack. The third victim, a 32-year-old San Pedro man, was listed in fair condition Tuesday at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, but has since requested that no further information about his condition be released, Birozy said.

The FBI is working with Cypress police to determine if any civil rights violations occurred, Birozy said.
