The Los Angeles premiere of “Stray Dog Story,” an adult comedy by Robert Chesley (“Jerker”) about a dog-turned-human adrift on the streets of New York City, opens today at the St. Genesius Theatre in West Hollywood.

The play with music is about a leftist ‘50s folk trio attempting a comeback amid House Un-American Activities Committee blacklisting and the trio’s own conflicting feelings about success and social conscience.
