2 Teens Arrested in Truck Stereo Theft

Two suspected thieves couldn’t have had worse luck when police rolled up next to them just as their description was being broadcast over the scanner, police officials said Friday.

The two unidentified 16-year-old boys were prying a stereo from a red Toyota pickup Thursday night when police came upon them, Oxnard Police Sgt. Dan Christian said.

Police received a tip and responded to the 100 block of North Imperial Street at 11:30 p.m.

Police arrested one of the boys without incident, but the other fled through residences, jumping over walls and into backyards.

A police dog finally found him, and the two were booked into juvenile hall.
