Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza lost to Angela Stanford, 2 and 1, in the third round of match play at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at Ann Arbor, Mich.
Stanford had six birdies, including the 16th and 17th holes to close out the match against Booth, who had been the medalist in qualifying.
Stanford then lost to Jenny Chuasiriporn, who will meet Brandi Miller in the semifinals. The other semifinal matches Marcy Newton and Grace Park.

Candie Kung of Fountain Valley shot two-under 68 to win the girls’ golf championship at the national Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla.
Kung, 17, had a four-day total of 282, three strokes ahead of runner-up Stacy Prammanasudh of Enid, Okla.
