ORANGE COUNTY EARNINGS

Wahlco Environmental Systems Inc.: The Santa Ana manufacturer of air pollution control and power efficiency equipment reported a net loss of $790,000, or 9 cents a share, for the second quarter, compared with a net loss of $390,000, or 22 cents a share, for the corresponding 1997 period. Revenue declined 27% to $10.3 million from $14.1 million. The first-half net loss was $2.3 million, or 42 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $994,000, or 56 cents a share, for the first six months of 1997. Revenue fell 27% to $19.5 million from $26.8 million.
