Jaha Goes on Disabled List
First baseman John Jaha was put on the 15-day disabled list as the Milwaukee Brewers made some roster changes Saturday, recalling pitcher Rafael Roque from the minors.
Jaha left Thursday’s game against Houston in the seventh inning with a strained right hamstring.
In other moves, outfielder Brian Banks was optioned to Triple-A Louisville and outfielder Geoff Jenkins was recalled from Louisville.

The Philadelphia Phillies put left-hander Matt Beech on the 15-day disabled list with a stretched ligament in his pitching elbow and claimed right-hander Paul Byrd off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. Beech, 26, is 3-9 with a 5.15 earned-run average this season in 21 starts.

Rain from thunderstorms rolling through the Phoenix area during Saturday night’s game against the New York Mets found its way into the Arizona Diamondbacks’ $354 million retractable-dome stadium through leaks in the roof over the first-base seating area. Lightning was seen through the windows above left-and right-center field. Though the game continued without interruption, one fan yelled “It’s drizzling.”
