Zodiac Gets Big Second Half to Bury New Orleans, 5-1

The Zodiac scored four second-half goals and defeated New Orleans, 5-1, in an A-League soccer game Sunday in front of an announced crowd of 627 at Mission Viejo High School.
The Zodiac’s Steve Patterson scored on a second-half penalty kick to extend his goal-scoring streak to five games. He leads the team with 10 goals and six assists (26 points).
Also scoring for the Zodiac (15-9) were Mike Matson, off an assist by Patterson, P.J. Polowski, Kenny Hesse and Gustavo Leal. It was the Zodiac’s biggest margin of victory since beating Cincinnati, 5-1, on May 1.
Lester Felician scored in the first half on a penalty kick for the Storm (12-11) to tie the score, 1-1.
Zodiac goalkeeper Mike Littman had two saves.
