Irabu to Miss Next Start
New York Yankee pitcher Hideki Irabu will miss his scheduled start Thursday because of a sore instep.
Manager Joe Torre said Irabu would return to New York if the instep isn’t better.
“If we sent him back, it will probably be Thursday. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Torre said. “We’ve taken all kinds of X-rays. If it’s no better tomorrow, we’ll probably send him back.”
The Yankees are hopeful Irabu will miss only one start.
