Update--The Galaxy (19-6) has clinched a playoff berth, can finish no worse than second in the Western Conference and needs to win only two of seven remaining games to secure first place. The Revolution (8-17) is in last place in the Eastern Conference and has only a slim chance of finishing in the top four and thereby making the playoffs. In the teams’ only other meeting this season, at the Rose Bowl on June 7, the Galaxy won, 5-1, with Carlos Hermosillo getting three assists in his Los Angeles debut. The Galaxy leads the all-time series, 5-2. All three of the games at Foxboro, however, have gone to a shootout. The Galaxy is coming off a 3-0 victory over the Kansas City Wizards, with Hermosillo scoring his first two goals for Los Angeles. The Revolution is coming off a 2-1 shootout victory over the Tampa Bay Mutiny, with Los Angeles-born goalkeeper Ian Feuer making 10 saves in regulation and winning his first shootout.
