Zodiac Falls to Vancouver

The Zodiac missed an opportunity to clinch home-field advantage for the first round of the A-League soccer playoffs Sunday, losing, 4-0, to Vancouver at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, B.C., in front of an announced crowd of 3,810.

The Zodiac (15-11), fell three points behind second-place Seattle in the Pacific Division.

Vancouver (15-12) recorded its third consecutive victory, while the Zodiac has dropped two straight. Vancouver needs to win its final game of the season to qualify for the playoffs.

Zodiac midfielder Mike Matson was ejected in the 39th minute and Vancouver took advantage, scoring three man-advantage goals.

Ian Clarke scored two goals and had an assist for Vancouver, which took a 3-0 halftime lead.
