Tree Project to Branch Out
The La Habra 2000 Founders’ Day tree-planting project has received a $500 donation from Century Cable to buy more trees.
The group aims to plant 2,000 trees by the end of 2000 to commemorate La Habra’s 75th anniversary. So far, the project has raised money to plant 349 trees.
The cost for one 15-gallon tree is about $50. The tree’s size is based on the size of the bucket in which it stands.
The Heritage 2000 Trees project is sponsored by La Habra’s Old Settlers’ Historical Society and the city’s Adopt-a-Park program.
