Football Proposal

Regarding the article “Drive for NFL Team Advances in Irvine,” July 29:

My immediate reaction was: Why can’t some other South County cities pitch in and add to the proposed fund or moneys to purchase El Toro?

The cliche that there’s strength in numbers truly applies here, whether it be an NFL team, a university, a central park or whatever.

I hope some city councils with some extra largess to spend will consider this proposal and get together with Irvine.
