Fire Defeats Wizards in Shootout

Sandra Hunt, one of two women who became the first female referees in MLS history Saturday, ejected a player from each team as the Chicago Fire beat the Kansas City Wizards, 3-2, in a shootout at Kansas City before 8,621.

Despite each team being short a man through the entire game, Ante Rasov beat goalkeeper Chris Snitko of the Wizards in the shootout to take a 3-2 lead.

Dallas 2, New York-New Jersey 0--Although referee Nancy Lay ejected defender Chad Deering for a rough tackle, the short-handed Burn scored twice in the final 18 minutes to beat the MetroStars in front of a crowd of 13,235 at Dallas.
