Firefighters launched their sixth annual “Spark of Love” campaign Friday to bring toys to needy children in the city. While the drive is a countywide effort including many fire departments, all toys donated by Huntington Beach residents will go to children in the city, officials said.

Gifts this year will be given to children associated with charities such as Project Self-Sufficiency, HOPE and Alpha, which helps foster children.

Donated toys, sports equipment or other gifts can be left at City Hall, 2000 Main St., or at any of the seven fire stations in the city. For more information, call Fire Education at (714) 536-5569.
