Susan McDougal

Let’s stop the Susan McDougal sainthood drive (Robert Scheer’s Dec. 1 Column Left). McDougal refused to answer a question at a grand jury hearing. The question concerns then-Gov. Bill Clinton’s knowledge of a $300,000 loan which is at the center of the whole Whitewater mess. A simple yes or no would seem to be the appropriate answer. From all appearances McDougal seems to have two options, either perjure herself or implicate Clinton. This is Scheer’s idea of a hero?
