Deputies are searching for a gunman who apparently shot a motorist, causing him to crash, then shot him again, killing the driver as he tried to run away Thursday morning.

Juan Carlos Bravo’s body was found in the rear parking lot at the Home Savings branch at Palmdale Boulevard and 20th Street East at 3:20 a.m. Thursday. The 27-year-old Palmdale man had crashed his car into the Home Savings building and been shot several times, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies said they had not identified a motive or suspects in the slaying.

Bravo was shot while driving his car, said Sgt. Ray Rodriguez of the sheriff’s homicide unit. Wounded, Bravo crashed his car and then tried to run away. His assailant caught up with him, Rodriguez said, and gunned him down behind the Home Savings building.
