The city will install 77 meters in its municipal lots downtown next month to make more parking available and generate up to $150,000 a year in revenue. The City Council on Monday approved an ordinance setting the meter rates at $1 per hour, seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The meters are designed to keep spaces open for shorter-term customer use and to generate revenue to upgrade the parking lots and add landscaping.
