WESTMINSTER
The city has enough water capacity to last through the peak demand times of the next two years, officials said Wednesday, meaning they don’t have to rush to build a new water tank to replace the one on Hefley Street that ruptured in September. The city has picked three possible locations to build one or possibly two water tanks to replace both the ruptured tank and another one on Monroe Street.
The three possible locations are a cemetery property at Hoover Street and Hazard Avenue; the existing reservoir site at Monroe and 23rd streets; and a city property at Edinger Avenue and Beach Boulevard.
