Seton Hall Center Sidelined
Seton Hall’s freshman center, Damian Dawkins, will sit out the remainder of the season for health reasons, Coach Tommy Amaker announced Saturday.
Dawkins, a 6-foot-10 native of Brampton, Canada, averaged 12.8 minutes, 3.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in five games this season. He has been undergoing tests to determine the cause of dizziness and headaches.
“Damian has experienced a fainting episode and the reason for that is still under investigation,” said Stefano Ravalli, a cardiologist at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. “The suspicion is that it would be secondary to an irregular heartbeat or an enlarged heart. For the time being, the consensus among the doctors is that he suspend all physical activity. We will be continuing specialized tests.”
