The Capistrano Unified School District received 82 suggestions from the community on what to name the future high school in Chiquita Canyon, trustees said at their meeting last week.
The district accepted suggestions for several months. Among the submissions: Janet Williams’ fourth-grade class at Crown Valley Elementary School in Laguna Niguel suggests Oso Valley High School because of the future school’s location; four people think Florence Griffith Joyner High School would be a good choice because she lived in Mission Viejo and was a role model for young people; and, because the school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2001, there are three suggestions for Millennium High School.
