Hebert Keeps Roussel Out

Goalie Guy Hebert continues to ruin Coach Craig Hartsburg’s plans to give backup Dominic Roussel a few starts.

Hebert is expected to play tonight against the Colorado Avalanche, but Tuesday’s starter for the rematch at Denver is undecided.

“We’ll make a decision after the game,” Hartsburg said. “It’s a pretty good time to get Dom in there.”

Hebert, who has given up only eight goals during a 4-0-2 unbeaten streak, has played in nine consecutive games since Roussel last started in a 3-1 loss Nov. 27 to the expansion Nashville Predators.

Duck defenseman Jason Marshall is not expected to play tonight or Tuesday because of a partially torn left hamstring.

“We’re hoping it’s only a week or so [layoff],” Hartsburg said of Marshall’s injury.

Hartsburg plans to shuffle his defensive pairings, moving Fredrik Olausson into Marshall’s spot with Kevin Haller as his partner.

Jamie Pushor and Ruslan Salei will play together. Pavel Trnka’s new partner will be either Mike Crowley or Pascal Trepanier.

Center Matt Cullen has a sprained right ankle, but could play tonight. Colorado, 0-3-1 in its last four games, will be without former Duck Warren Rychel, who broke his left hand in a fight Thursday. Avalanche captain Joe Sakic has a sprained shoulder and is expected to be sidelined at least a week. Peter Forsberg, who has a groin injury, played in Saturday’s 2-1 loss to San Jose and had an assist.
