The U-Drive boat sign’s faded paint is now fresh and bright, and its rusty old neon tubes soon will be filled with light.
It’s been a long time coming, but the 60-year-old sign that once adorned the Balboa Fun Zone will be mounted there again this week. The sign should be on the poles at the corner of Edgewater and Palm near the Ferry Landing today or Wednesday.
The new neon tubes will be installed after the first of the year, with a lighting ceremony set for Jan. 25.
