Union at UCLA

Share

* Now that the California Public Employment Relations Board has definitely ruled that the University of California’s teaching assistants have every right to unionization (Dec. 15), I hope that the UC administration will not hesitate to re-spect this latest legal decision.

If the administration continues to try to delay unionization through endless legal appeals and stonewalling, it will only engender further strikes and squander millions of dollars in taxpayer moneys in the process. Gov.-elect Gray Davis and our legislative leaders can prevent the UC from causing further damage to public education by letting the university know that such a course of action is totally unacceptable.
