Toledo: Enjoy Perks, but Stay Focused

The trip to the Rose Bowl brings with it side trips that will help the Bruins celebrate their Pacific 10 Conference championship but also test their ability to focus on the game.

They went to Disneyland after practice Tuesday. Still ahead is the traditional Lawry’s Beef Bowl, a visit to Universal Studios and press conferences at a Century City hotel, in addition to post-workout media commitments.

“I think there’s a fine line,” said Coach Bob Toledo, who also will join selected players next week in visiting City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte. “A reward for getting to the Rose Bowl is to have fun. It’s not going to be drudgery.”
