William W. Daniel has been appointed chief executive officer of Mission Community Hospital of Panorama City, the Board of Directors of the nonprofit hospital recently announced.

Daniel, who has more than 30 years experience in health care and community services management, most recently served as CEO of Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley and oversaw a major reorganization and $20-million facilities expansion. Daniel previously held top administrative positions at Burbank Community Hospital and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Daniel takes over the 96-bed hospital in Panorama City as it undergoes a $17-million earthquake repair and seismic upgrade project funded by the Federal Emergency Management Administration. Mission also operates a 56-bed acute-care psychiatric hospital in the city of San Fernando.

Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts, an MBA from Pepperdine University and a master’s degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.

* The National Assn. of Realtors recently selected Jim Link of Simi Valley as the 1998 recipient of its William R. Magel Award of Excellence. The group presents the award for distinguished service to an executive officer of a regional Realtors association.

Link, executive vice president of the Southland Regional Assn. of Realtors, which covers the San Fernando Valley, “was a leader in the nearly total restructuring and repositioning of the real estate industry at the dawn of the age of the Internet,” said Bud Mauro, president of the Southland association, in a written statement.

Link is the 11th recipient of the Magel Award.
