Los Angeles Unified School District Supt. Ruben Zacarias was honored as a “Children’s Champion” at Etta Israel Center’s fourth annual fund-raiser at Chasen’s restaurant on Jan. 17. The event, attended by 550 guests, raised $200,000 for the Los Angeles center’s programs and professional services for children with special needs.
