Twelve-year-old Jonah Burnett, a sixth-grader at Robert M. Pyles Elementary School, has received top honors in a countywide anti-drug essay contest.

Burnett was among hundreds of fifth- and sixth-grade students who entered the “Why Say No to Drugs” contest, sponsored by area pharmacists last October. Burnett recently learned he won the grand prize--a $500 savings bond and tickets to Magic Mountain, said his teacher, Lindy Monge.

In addition to the prizes, Burnett will be the guest of honor at two banquets.
