Man Hospitalized After Explosion at Apartment
One man was injured in an explosion at an apartment Friday night, authorities said.
Police and firefighters were called to a reported explosion at an apartment in the 1300 block of French Street about 7:30 p.m., Police Lt. Jose Garcia said. When they arrived, they called for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad, he said.
Paramedics moved an injured man at the apartment to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Garcia said. He did not know the man’s name or condition.
The bomb squad and Santa Ana police are investigating the explosion, Garcia said. There was no fire, no one else was injured, and no one had to be evacuated, he said.
