Ideal for anyone looking for a quickie course on herbal medicine. You will pick up enough basic knowledge to deal with easily treatable problems, such as indigestion, minor cuts and the flu. Mars offers a brief history of herbalism, a rundown on the uses of her favorite herbs and an intelligent question-and-answer session. Also included is a pamphlet outlining much of the recorded material, so you won’t feel the need to jot down everything you hear. It also offers a few suggestions for continuing your herbal education. The one slight drawback to this well-thought-out audio is Mars. Her delivery is sometimes awkward--she pauses too long, swallows too loud. One gets the feeling she is none too comfortable behind the mike. For the most part, she is easy to listen to, but there are times when a professional narrator would have given this more polish.
