CyberMedia Names New Chairman

Share

CyberMedia Inc., a Santa Monica developer of software to help computers run better, including the First Aid and UnInstaller programs, said that board member Kanwal Rekhi will become the company’s chairman. Also, Jeffrey Beaumont resigned as CyberMedia’s chief financial officer “for personal reasons,” said company spokeswoman Lisa Stein. CyberMedia said Rekhi’s appointment as chairman is intended to support company founder Unni Warrier, who is giving up the chairman’s seat but will continue to serve as president and chief executive of the fast-growing firm. Rekhi has served on CyberMedia’s board since October 1995. Last week, CyberMedia sued industry rival Symantec Corp., claiming copyright infringement. CyberMedia shares fell 2 cents to close at $6.98 on Nasdaq.
