Stolen Hair-Care Products Cause Concern

Police warned consumers Wednesday about possibly hazardous hair-care products stolen from an Oxnard warehouse last fall that have been showing up recently in discount stores.

The products, which may be chemically unstable, have appeared in San Diego stores. But police are concerned that if they resurface in Ventura County local consumers could be harmed.

The mostly old and damaged merchandise, valued at $25,000, was stolen after an Oct. 16 auction at Image Laboratories of Oxnard, police said.

Among the names of the stolen goods are, Jumping Curls and Brainwaves, which because of their toxic components are to be used only by professionals.

Containers of Brainwaves Perm Neutralizer and Intrakera Conditioner also were stolen and also are for professional use only. These containers are labeled in Japanese.
