Freeway Work Means Two Weeks of Detours

Share

Motorists using the east- and westbound connectors from the Garden Grove Freeway to the northbound Santa Ana Freeway will be detoured to an alternate route beginning today.

For the next two weeks, drivers will be redirected to new lanes that will take them off the freeway, north across Chapman Avenue and then back onto the northbound Santa Ana Freeway, Caltrans officials said.

Traffic signals will be adjusted to accommodate the additional traffic crossing Chapman.

Redirecting motorists is necessary to prepare for a traffic switch on the Santa Ana Freeway later this month, officials said. The switch will allow motorists to drive on a new stretch of the northbound side of the Santa Ana River bridge.
