Share

A blueprint for future freeway, rail, airport and other transportation projects across Southern California will be the subject of two meetings scheduled this week in Orange County.

The Southern California Assn. of Governments, which is preparing the 20-year plan of regional transportation needs, will hold a community forum today on the subject at the Santa Ana Senior Center, 424 W. 3rd St. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature Los Alamitos Mayor Ronald Bates, a member of the association.

On Thursday, a public hearing on the transportation plan will take place at 2 p.m. at Brea Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Circle. The hearing will focus on Orange County elements of the plan, including a proposal to build a light-rail system through the central county.
