From Times Wire Reports

Setting aside the war that has ripped apart this nation, the Taliban army sent 24 trucks of rice, flour and medicine to cold and hungry earthquake victims in opposition-held territory. “This is a tragedy for all Afghans,” Taliban Information Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said in the capital, Kabul. The Taliban has sought to impose a strict version of Islamic rule and has faced resistance from an opposition coalition in northern Afghanistan, where the 6.1 magnitude quake struck on Feb. 4. An estimated 30,000 survived the quake, which killed about 4,500.
