From Times Wire Reports

Thousands of Iranian wrestling fans gave a hometown welcome to the first American athletes to compete in the country in 19 years. The Azadi Stadium in Tehran erupted with cheers when each of five U.S. wrestlers took the mat against their foreign opponents. Two of the Americans advanced to the finals today. The U.S. athletes are the most high-profile Americans to visit Tehran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Their presence is interpreted by many as a step toward better ties between Iran and the United States.
