Residential Vehicles Face Overnight Parking Ban

Share

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has voted to ban overnight parking of vans, motor homes, campers and trailers in public lots in Marina del Rey.

The board adopted an ordinance that prohibits vehicles intended for habitation from parking in public lots between 2 and 6 a.m., said John Wallace, spokesman for Supervisor Don Knabe.

The proliferation of such vehicles has drawn complaints from apartment building residents and property managers who say owners of the campers use their bathrooms and facilities without permission, said Kerry Gottlieb, the chief deputy director of the Department of Beaches and Harbors.

The ordinance will go before the board for a second reading March 3, and will be put into effect 30 days later if approved.
