City to Review Curbs on Sex-Related Clubs
Tougher measures to regulate sexually oriented clubs will be considered tonight by the City Council.
A city task force, which includes Councilmen Lou Lopez and Bob Zemel, is recommending changing city ordinances pertaining to adult businesses and holding a forum in April to get comments from the community.
About five businesses in the city have nude or topless entertainment.
Police said more than 500 calls were logged from 1995 to 1997 from these businesses and included assaults, disorderly conduct, weapons violations, robbery and two rapes.
The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd. Information: (714) 765-5166.
