Trustee to Address Republican Group

Share

Simi Valley school trustee Norm Walker will field questions at the regular meeting of the California Republican Assembly on Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Walker’s talk, titled “Agenda for Education,” will include his vision for the Simi Valley Unified School District, which recently lost its seventh superintendent in as many years.

Walker, a conservative trustee who is up for reelection in November, will discuss the district’s “massive dislocation of personnel, who is responsible and what should be done to correct this,” said Don Otto, president of the group’s local chapter. The chapter has about 100 members in Simi Valley and Moorpark.

Otto described the organization as the “largest grass-roots conservative group in California.” The greeting on its headquarters answering machine calls the group the “conscience of the Republican Party.”

The discussion is free, but guests must pay for their own dinners at the International House of Pancakes at 2525 Erringer Road.

For more information, call Otto at 527-7511 or Rich Porter 527-2906.
