Los Angeles police say they have broken up an alleged prostitution ring that was fronting as a health club, resulting in the arrests of five people, including two men accused of soliciting sex from undercover detectives.

The operators of the New Image Professional Health Club, Russell Soon, 55, and Lim Sun, 43, were arrested on suspicion of “keeping a disorderly house.” In addition, Kim Sook, 49, was booked on suspicion of prostitution.

Soon and Sun were being held in the Van Nuys Jail in lieu of $500 bail.

Sook was also being held at the jail, with bail set at $5,000 because of prior arrests, according to LAPD Lt. Timothy Moss.

After the arrests, detectives from the Organized Crime and Vice Division and West Valley Vice conducted a “reverse sting” by posing as employees of the health club, which is at 21044 Sherman Way.

Skianis Christos, 36, and Toutouni Farhad, 24, were arrested after they allegedly asked undercover female officers to perform sexual acts for money, Moss said. Both men were released on their own recognizance.

Moss said neighbors told police about the alleged activities at the business.
