The City Council has awarded grants to four local performing arts organizations, as recommended by the city’s Fine Arts Advisory Board.

The grants are designed to assist local groups in the production of theater and stage performances.

This year’s recipients are the West Hollywood Chorale, a 70-member group which performs chorale music at special events; Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, which donates tickets to AIDS organizations; Celebration Theater, which encourages lesbian and gay artists to develop theater works; and St. Ambrose Art Center Playwright’s Group, which produces new stage works and provides a venue for writers to develop their skills and gain experience.
