L.A. Improvements
Re “A New Spin: ‘Rebuild LA’ From the Top,” Column Left, Jan. 5: I believe Tom Hayden needs to do his homework before he starts to rant and rave and attempt to lay blame. Rebuild LA may be on the verge of failure at this point, but to attack the new Getty Center and the MTA is way out of line.
The Getty Center, which was built with private funds, was started well before the L.A. riots. As for the MTA, if I’m not mistaken, I believe it is people Hayden claims to represent, along with others, who have tried to stop the construction of the Red Line.
