Zerrick Campbell’s game-high 14 points and eight rebounds led San Francisco to an easy 85-61 West Coast Conference victory over Loyola Marymount on Friday night in San Francisco.

The Dons (11-4 overall, 2-1 conference) handed Loyola Marymount (4-11, 0-3) its fourth straight loss. San Francisco tied its season high in points even while going scoreless as reserves played out the final four minutes.

Senior guard M.J. Nodilo, sidelined for most of the season with a hairline fracture of his left foot, made his first start and made an immediate impact with 14 points.

Nodilo scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half and sparked the 20-0 San Francisco run with a pair of three-pointers in the middle of the outburst. All four of Nodilo’s field goals by halftime were three-pointers.

San Francisco led, 20-13, with 10 minutes left in the first half when the decisive onslaught began with a Ra’oof Sadat jumper. By the time Marvin Gray banked a bad pass off his palm and into the basket, San Francisco was up 40-13.

The Dons made 18 of 29 shots (.621), including six of 12 from three-point range, and limited Loyola to .333 (eight for 24) shooting in the first half.

The rebounding edge was just as dramatic, 21-11. Loyola rarely got a second chance, grabbing just one offensive rebound in the half.

The Lions made one brief stab at making a game of it, cutting the lead to 48-33 by bridging the two halves with a 9-0 run. Leo Saucedo had five points in that span.

The comeback was cut short as the Dons outscored the Lions, 29-16, over the next six minutes.
